Days 3-4-5Le Langhe
Daily breakfasts in your hotel!  A langa (singular) is a steep craggy hill in the local Piemontese dialect.  This is one of our absolute favorite parts of Italy offering charming towns and architecture and one of the best cuisines of all Italy!  A list of carefully selected restaurant  suggestions and menu items will be provided before your departure!  Here in Le Langhe, you are in the midst of vineyards known for the nebbiolo grape.  The local wines include famous reds like barbaresco, nebbiolo, barbera and barolo, the white arneis and nearby Asti’s famous spumante, to name just a few!  Your next couple of days will be devoted to tasting them as you explore wonderful local towns such as Cherasco, Saluzzo, Alba, Monforte, Grinzane, Asti, Sinio, and more!
Day 1Depart USA
Overnight transatlantic flights today...

Day 2  Arrival in Italia
Arrival today in Torino or Milan!  Pick up your rental for the drive south, passing the famous arboreto rice fields en route to the area of Piedmont known as “Le Langhe.”  Accommodations in the town of Alba are quite charming, or if you prefer, Monforte d’Alba and nearby towns offer unique out-of-the way selections including castelli, charming inns and (B&B-style)!  As part of our custom itinerary design, we will coach you and help you choose just the right spot for your taste and budget!
Days 7-8-9Riviera
Day trips and great food- what could be better??  Return the rental car on arrival and use the excellent local network of boats and trains to explore up and down the coast! nd don’t forget the beach! 
As in Le Langhe, great possibilities abound and we will provide restaurant and wine-tasting ideas and transportation suggestions!
Day 6Le Langhe - Riviera
Driving south today you will reach the Ligurian seacoast known as the Riviera dei Fiori!  Genoa is right along the way, featuring the best aquarium of the Mediterranean, as well as a display centered on the emigration from Italy to the United States.  Continuing south along the coast, you will reach the Bay of Tigullio, framed by Portofino on one side and by the Cinque Terre on the other.  Sestri Levante is our favorite place to stay!

If a 10-day sojourn isn’t long enough, you could extend your time in Italy!  Just over the hills to the east is the region of Emilia Romagna, and Tuscany lies just to the south, or it’s a quick flight from Genoa to Rome!  Give us a call and we will be happy to make suggestions for an extended time in la bella Italia!  Remember, each of our itineraries is unique, personal and customized according to your interests, energy level and budget!
