Day 1Depart USA
Early check in is a must as you’ll be winging your way via a connecting flight to Bordeaux!


Day 2Bordeaux - St. Emilion
On arrival in Bordeaux, retrieve your rental car and perhaps linger a moment to take in the downtown pedestrian area and the huge ornate cathedral, where Loius VII and Eleanor of Aquitaine were married in 1137, before driving east into the wine country of St. Emilion!   we will consult with you at length about your desires and budget with the aim of selecting the perfect hotels and activities in each place and indeed for your entire stay! 














Day 5Les Eyzies de Tayac
Apart from the castles, Les Eyzies is well known for Paleolithic cave paintings which abound in the region.  Lascaux is the best known and recommended for a visit today.  The shrine of Rocammadour in a stunning cliff-side setting and the medieval town of Sarlat make for an interesting day-trip.  Goose is the specialty of this region, so you will have a chance to indulge your palate with confit de canard!























Day 7Carcassonne - Castillon du Gard
Explore Carcassonne this morning and continue eastward to the area known as Gard, famous for the Pont du Gard aqueduct.


Days 8-11Castillon du Gard
The village town of Castillon du Gard gives the traveller an authentic experience and great access to Nimes -featuring artifacts that date to the Stone Age and the first civic gardens of France, Arles, Avignon, the middle-age home of the popes, Les Baux de Provence, featuring gorgeous landscapes, as well as Vaucluse, Orange, Aigues Mortes, and even Roquefort, where you can see age-old methods of making the famous cheese! 
Spend your days exploring the wonderful towns and interesting sites in the area!  Great cuisine too!

Day 3St. Emilion
Daily breakfasts in each of your hotels will be included.  A relaxing day today to rest up from the flight and to explore this charming town.  Why not have a little sample degustation in one of the local vineyards?  The region is world-renowned for its reds!  We’ll make some restaurant suggestions for you as well!


Day 4St. Emilion - Les Eysies de Tayac
Continuing eastward, reach the Valley of the Dordogne.  This region is called Aquitaine and if you remember the movie Lion in Winter, it was contested by England and France during the 100-Years War.  Castle towns dominate the river valley, including Domme and Bergerac. 


Day 12Castillon du Gard - Avignon (or Marseilles) - USA-bound
Depending on your hometown, Avignon or Marseille will offer the best connections back to the USA!

Or why not extend your time in France?  From Castillon du Gard it’s just a short ride to Aix en Provence and then to the Riviera!  Juan les Pins, Antibes, Nice, Monaco, we know them all!  Another idea would be to tack on a couple of nights in Paris and Normandy - or why not the Chhateaux of the Loire Valley??  France offers so very much and we’re here to to consult with you to make your dreams come true!

Day 6
Les Eyzies de Tayac - Agen - Cahors - Toulouse - Carcassonne
Heading south now, there is so much to see!  Agen features a remarkable Roman statue of Venus, Cahors is famous for its medieval bridge Toulouse is known for the remarkable architecture of the ‘mairie’ or town hall and impressive basilicas, including the remains of St. Thomas Aquinas!  Carcassonne is a pure castle town and will be your overnight!
